Through the marketing strategy you tell your audience just how you plan to make it to the top. In my marketing strategy I told the audience how I would go about promoting my business through commercials, magazines, newspapers, flyers, brochures, and much more! We want to show the audience what we are all about and get them on our side of the road, the say no to drunk driving side of things. The marketing strategy also lays out what you are willing to spend in promoting the business and where you can locate yourself for the business. By the end of the strategy you have your location, your equipment, your staff, and training that you need for the leaders and staff.
MADD is always there for their clients, and whether they are in your state or not, they are always online. If you're looking for some merchandise like t-shirts, hoodies, pants, and more just go online and get them! You can contact MADD headquarters, schedule a time to meet with members of the group, and much more. MADD is here for you, even if you have not been affected by drunk driving in your life, you can certainly learn more about trying to stop it. Pledge to MADD that you will never drink and drive. Learn more information through the website. They post something new everyday, something that shows support for the families that have been impacted by drunk driving.
I think it's important to show a marketing strategy to show what your company has to offer and what sets it apart from other companies that may offer the same service or product. It's important to show that you offer something better than what other people or your competitors offer. With our company, MADD, we offer a service that is loyal and top of the market for clients. Our company offers support groups, individual support, candlelit vigils, and photo board of remembrance and memory gardens for the victims of drunk driving accidents. We are there for our clients 24/7 and want to make sure that everyone across the country knows the impact that drunk driving can have. We want to make sure that the victims of drunk driving accidents know that there are people out there for them to lean on and that there is help out there to get through the tragic event. Through plotting our marketing strategy I have found the minor competitor that our company has, which is SADD. SADD is Students Against Destructive Decisions, and is a school based group that lets students know the dangers of drunk driving. SADD is well known through high schools, but MADD is a company or group you hear more about out in the real world. SADD puts on events much like MADD, the presentations at the high schools, and the Mock Crash events. MADD puts on a bigger show when it comes to making things realistic and showing people just how big of an impact drunk driving has on our society. SADD does it's best, but SADD is does not raise as much money as MADD does to put together events such as Mock Crash and the traveling from school to school and community to community.
Our company plans to do so many things with the community to show everyone just how passionate we are about getting rid of drunk driving altogether. In order to do the things we want to do, we need to come up with the money first. We plan to get our money through fundraisers such as bake sales, Mock Crash events, and community events. We also hope to get money from the government to fund our group, and help spread the message across the nation. Our company wants to make sure that society understands the effect of drunk driving on people, and just how important it is to get rid of drunk driving altogether in our society. We plan to hold Mock Crash events to show viewers the effect of DUI driving and how things would run if you were ever involved in one. We also plan to show presentations through schools and businesses along with the Mock Crash events. Through our events in the community we plan to sell merchandise such as shirts, hoodies, pants, and more, to promote and show support for our company. We plan to use Blue Cotton in the making of the design and paraphernalia. As for market competition, our company is independently owned and we have products that you won't find in stores, but only on our website. Our company plans to fight for the change in our society, to get rid of drunk driving altogether, no matter what it takes.
As mentioned in the video, the images may be graphic for some viewers. Drunk driving is real, and happens in our society everyday, every minute, every hour. Drunk driving can be avoided, if we all used some common sense and did not drink and drive. This video shows just some of the DUI accidents that happen everyday. With our company, MADD, we want to eliminate drunk driving altogether. No one should have to be put in such a situation. Innocent people are getting killed or wounded everyday from someone else's stupidity to drink and drive. MADD will hold Mock Crashes, which are similar to the images shown, using teens from schools through programs such as SADD (Students Against Drunk Driving). Schools hold Mock Crashes around the time of Prom, but we as a company will show schools every month what drunk driving crashes are like. Using teens from schools makes it just as big of an impact on the study body because it's hard to see someone you have grown up with, just be killed from a DUI accident. Although the Mock Crashes are made up, but realistic looking, we want to make them as real as possible to teach the teens and adults that nothing good comes from drinking and driving. Think before you drink and drive.
“To aid the victims of crimes performed by individuals driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, to aid the families of such victims and to increase public awareness of the problem of drinking and drugged driving.”
Our Vision:
So you’re thinking about drinking and driving, eh? Just think, you are putting so many people in danger because you are not in the state of mind to be behind the wheel of an automobile. The next time you decide to go out to a party or event and drink, think about the following statistics
Every half hour one person dies in a drunk driving accident
16,000 people are killed each year from drunk driving accidents
40% of automobile accidents are DUI related
30% of Americans will be in a DUI accident
Our Objectives:
We plan to decrease the amount of drunk driving through presentations, publicity, and much more. We plan to have fundraisers to gain money to make the merchandise as well as pay for the publicity. We plan to have car washes, school visits to let kids know the dangers of drunk driving.
So you're probably asking yourself, what is social entrepreneurship? Well it's a person who takes care of social problems by identifying and solving them. Social Entrepreneurs take control of opportunities that other people miss, and make the situation into something better. They invent ways to make our society a better place. In today's society we have many social entrepreneurs, such as Wendy Kopp.
Wendy Kopp has created a program called "Teach for America". This particular program provides college senior graduates with the chance to perform in a school for five weeks that may not be in the best condition. This has helped over 33,000 teachers in the U.S. and provided an education for 3 million students in 34 states. Kopp is now trying to expand "Teach for America" in 22 different countries.
Another example of social entrepreneurship in our society today is J.B Schramm. J.B created a program that allows students entering their senior year of high school to enhance their grades, and better prepare themselves for college. They are able to spend a few weeks in the summer before their senior year of high school, at a college and take classes that may prepare them for applying to colleges, and other classes. The program allowed students to get a feel for college life, and reconsider going to college. Most of the students entering the program are students from low income families, students with high grades, or students with low grades, all options have no interest in college.
You have done some research into Social Entrepreneurship. Now you will create a blog post that explains what social entrepreneurship is and how it affects the world today. You should include in your post what social entrepreneurship is as well as at least two current examples of social entrepreneurs, and you will give your insight into how social entrepreneurship can positively affect the world.
So what is a pecha kucha? In Japanese pecha kucha means "chit chat". This was created in 2003 in Tokyo Japan, and was made to allow people with thoughts to share, to share them publicly. Each thought is expressed through a presentation, and there are strict guidelines for these presentations. The rules are as followed, you must have 20 slides, and they must be shown for 20 seconds each. The presentation must last 6 minutes and 40 seconds. Pecha kucha presentations are not easy to make, but they are effective that they are short and concise. It's not easy to keep your timing for each slide at the amount they are suppose to be, it all depends on the speaker.
I personally think that the pecha kucha method would work best in businesses, because with businesses if you have a long presentation you are not only wasting your time but other people's time. If you keep everything short and sweet you can get more done and go on with your lives, maybe even finish more so you can get home early. If you used something like the pecha kucha method in schools through education, this would only cause confusion with the students, and a lot of after school help may be needed. Students can't comprehend everything in 20 seconds, although it seems like a long time or good amount of time, it's really not.

You may be wondering what a MOOC is, well it's simple actually. MOOC stands for Massive Open Online Courses, it's school but online. MOOC is a helpful learning resource found online, for college students. Through an article I had found, the class sizes for the courses consisted of nearly 2,600 students. The people in the class find that it is much easier to use the college online courses than the in person, face to face, because it reduces cost. 64% of the users said that it reduced the cost of getting a degree to institutions in which they teach. 86% of students said that because they stay in the MOOC program, they are able to spend less on college. The institutions for some students will grant them credits for courses to help them get ready to leave college and out in the real world. I personally think that MOOC is a good idea because it is saving you money from what you could be spending at colleges. I also think that it could hurt you because you are not getting the proper college degree through the program. The program keeps you from meeting new people and participating in clubs, which is what you do in college, and what should make up your resume after college. MOOC can have its positives and negatives, but I believe that it will stay around in the future, especially since our generation relies on computers and technology.

In the' Ken Robinson says school kills creativity' video, Ken Robinson stresses that, "if your not prepared to be wrong then you are not prepared to create something original." When you go into school you are prepared to share what you know, and sometimes what you share is creative and inspiring to others. If you come into school not prepared to share what you know then you aren't prepared to be wrong. Everyone is wrong and right in some situations, but if you don't take the chance to share what you know to prove if it is valid or not, then you will never know if what you know is right or wrong. When you grow up you will eventually fear being wrong, and have the attitude that you are always right. This is not something you want to happen, especially when you go into the work field. Ken says that when you're a child you are not born into creativity, but put into school and grow out of it. In school you are taught what has to be right, and what you are creative with or is original to you may be wrong. In my future presentations I will use this video to show me that you need to be original, because being original does not mean you are being wrong. Being wrong is being right, in the sense that you are losing your creativity if you are right.
In the 'Steve Jobs' 2005 Stanford Commencement Address', Steve Jobs talks about three stories from his past that make up his future. He talks about his failures and successes, and how he came to become the man he was. I believe that Job's message throughout his speech was that through all the ups and downs, you will have a success in the end. He was put through so much in his life and through all the things he was put through, he came out as a success. In my future presentations I will use personal stories, to show the similarities between my presentation and something that may have happened to me, or someone I know. It brings the presentation together, and makes everything more real, adds emotion and connection.
